Do I need a Fire Risk Assessment? 

 

Your fire risk assessment will be completed by our in house Nebosh, IFE, and FireQual UK Fire Door Inspector qualified representative, who has nearly 20 years experience within the fire sector. 

 

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that: 

  

9.— (1) The responsible person must make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to which relevant persons are exposed for the purpose of identifying the general fire precautions he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed on him by or under this Order.

 

In simple terms it requires the responsible person to: 

  

Prevent harm or injury to anyone in the event of a fire 

Reduce where practicably and reasonably possible the possibility of a fire. 

  

The requirement for a recorded written assessment applies when a business premises has 5 or more employees and it must be completed by a competent person.

Pubs, restaurants, cinemas, bars & nightclubs 

Hotels & guest houses 

Houses of multiple occupation (HMO) & blocks of flats

 Size of premises and number of floors within. 

Total number of employees. 

Type of business been undertaken. 

Risks such as any industrial processes in place or property with sleeping accommodation. 

 

Do I need to provide any information for the fire risk assessment? 

  

To assist you we kindly ask you to provide where possible: 

  

Your businesses fire policy 

Building plans 

Copy of any previous Fire Risk Assessment 

Fire equipment test records (Log Book) 

Staff fire safety training records 

Details of any hazardous and flammable substances your business holds on site 

Electrical test records 

  

If you do not have any of this information that is perfectly fine as the process we use will cover this.
